Solder Connection presents the Quant 200 Engineering Desk Top Printer as an easily accessible way of production, process and design engineers to undertake rapid prototyping of tooling of jigs and fixtures together with offering conceptual designs to customers before committing to hard tooling.
Having your own 3D Printer within your office will save you not only many hours in redesigning hard tooling, but could save you thousands of pounds in correcting tooling errors.
The Quant 200 with its small footprint sits on your desk top, silently printing your 3D design as you carry on other operational duties, many designs will be completed within the hour.
This is truly a plug and play printer as it self calibrates and is ready to print out of the box within 40 minutes.
The Quant 200 uses ABS or PLA filament to create your design, all structural support is automatically taken care of by the embedded Structural Support Software allowing you to print even the most complex of designs.

Q - During my print, corners or edges lift away from the platform. How can I stop this?
A - This arises because the platform hasn't been properly heated. Before any print that takes up approximately 50% of the platform, preheat the platform (Click 3D Print in the toolbar, followed by table preheat 15 mins). This will give the entire platform an opportunity to achieve heat, but be careful, it reaches 100 degrees!
Q - How small a product can I accurately print?
A - The user must be aware that simpler designs will print fine, however there are limitations as a result of the technology. This means that products that are 12x12mm with very fine detail may cause you as issue with the final result.
Q - Do I need to add support on to the design?
A - The software tells the printer to produce a scaffolding so as when more difficult designs are undertaken, they are achievable.
Q - Can I print more than one colour?
A - This machine only has one head so you can only print one colour at a time. There are a range of filament colours available.
Q - Is it safe to disconnect my Quant 3D Q200 printer from my laptop or computer mid-print?
A - Once the print has started, it is safe to disconnect the printer from the computer.
Q - The protective cover on the extrusion head has broken. How can I get a replacement?
A - When you download the software upon installation, one of the folders contains example STL files to print. In here there is a folder labelled "UP Plus Spare Parts". Located in here is a number of replacement parts that we recommend you print before anything else.
