It has been designed with a wide thermal process window enabling best-in-class productivity with lead-free wave soldering applications, and is an excellent choice for remaining tin-lead production lines. ALPHA EF-6100 is formulated with a proprietary mixture of organic activators to give more thermal stability, thereby reducing the occurrence of solder bridging during lead-free dual wave soldering.

ALPHA Vaculoy SACX0307HASL

ALPHA Vaculoy SACX0307 HASL is a lead-free alloy suitable for use as a replacement for Sn63 alloy in the hot air solder level process. The SACX0300 HASL variant is used to stabilize / reduce the copper content in the hot air solder level machine solder bath, this requirement will depend on process conditions. As with all Alpha Metals bar solder, Alpha’s proprietary Vaculoy alloying process is used to remove certain impurities, particularly oxides. The product is further enhanced with the addition of 2 minor elements to reduce copper dissolution rates and improve the pad cosmetics.

ALPHA EF-2202, is a low-VOC, halide-free, rosin/resin-free, low solids no-clean flux which provides the highest activity of any low-VOC-free Bellcore compliant flux for defect-free soldering. It is formulated with a proprietary mixture of organic activators which deliver excellent wetting and top-side hole fill, even with OSP coated bare copper boards which have undergone prior thermal excursions. Several proprietary additives are also formulated into ALPHA EF-2202 which act to reduce the surface tension between the solder mask and the solder; thereby, dramatically reducing the tendency of solderball generation. The formulation of ALPHA EF-2202 is also designed to be more thermally stable; thereby, reducing the occurrence of solder bridging.

Alpha Flux EF6000

ALPHA EF-6000 was specifically developed to deliver outstanding board cosmetics and to eliminate the tendency for solder balling and solder bridging, two types of defects which are normally associated with the use of the chip wave. Of all low solids (< 4% solids), no-clean fluxes, ALPHA EF-6000 exhibits the lowest tendency for solder ball generation over a wide variety of solder masks during wave soldering and Selective Soldering operations. ALPHA EF-6000 should be considered for use by any assembler who has board designs which are sensitive to solder bridging, performs pin testing, or whose specification requires an extremely low frequency of solder balls.

ALPHA EF-8000 is a rosin-containing flux designed to provide the attributes of excellent solderability and reliability in general and high-density boards in both Lead-Free and eutectic tin/lead processes. It is designed to have low bridging on bottom side QFP’s with 144-168 leads as well as superior performance in hole fill and solderballing. Additionally, it provides good lead free solder joint cosmetics with an evenly spread, tack free residue.

The SACX alloy has been developed by Alpha as an alternative when considering the change to lead free wave soldering. The alloy exhibits similiar performance parameters to that of SAC305 but due to its lower Silver percentage (0.3%) it gives you the added benefit of a lower purchase cost.

Alpha Vaculoy SACX DT 0307 is a lead-free alloy suitable for use as a replacement for Sn63 alloy in the dip tinning process or in mini wave rework. The SACX DT 0300 variant is used to stabilize/reduce the copper content in dip tinning pot or mini wave pot, this requirement will depend on process conditions. This alloy is a variant of the SACX alloy for wave solder, and is compatible with the SACX wave alloy when used in mini pot rework.
