The wave soldering process is one of the most challenging automated soldering procedures to set up. Especially after preventive maintenance, running the WaveRIDER is like using an electronic glass plate that captures a machine’s signature, providing you with data that the old method never could. And, the new LeadFree WaveRIDER addresses the needs of higher process temperatures while providing easier docking and optional width adjustability.

The ECD WaveRIDER greatly simplifies wave solder set up and ensures perfect repeatability, time after time. Conveyor speed is verified while board recipe preheat temperatures, preheat ramp, solder temperature, wave height, contact times and paralellism are all measured and monitored using the WaveRIDER system. The ECD SuperMOLE Gold you already have for Classic PCB profiling supplies the processing power - simply dock the SuperMOLE Gold and press “Start” to begin your WaveRIDER Data Parameters Go/No-Go Screen.

WaveRIDER analysis

With the patented WaveRIDER, you can avoid thermocouple attachment hassles and implement statistical process control (SPC) for wave soldering performance verification, Used on a regular basis as a first-off article, data gathered is saved to the program from which process capability is automatically calculated. Also, upper and lower specification limits may be set which delivery color-coded data that serves as a Go/No-Go indicator for the operator.
